Walks Like Rihanna Lyrics

“Walks Like Rihanna” by The Wanted is a delightfully silly and undeniably catchy pop confection that trades on pure, unadulterated fascination with celebrity – specifically, the iconic swagger of Rihanna. At its core, the song isn't about profound romantic longing; instead, it’s an exuberant celebration of superficial attraction and the intoxicating power of a perceived ‘it’ factor. The lyrics paint a picture of a girl who doesn't possess traditional skills like singing or dancing, yet commands attention simply through her movement, described as “walking like Rihanna.” This isn’t about genuine talent or personality; it’s about an almost primal response – the irresistible urge to be drawn in by someone perceived as desirable due to their association with a larger-than-life celebrity. The repeated chorus, “She walks like Rihanna,” functions as a mantra, amplifying this obsession and building towards a frenzied, almost hypnotic rhythm driven by the insistent “boom boom boom” of the beat. The Wanted leans heavily into this playful absurdity, acknowledging the ridiculousness of their fascination with this nameless girl – "who cares" they ask repeatedly – effectively inviting listeners to join in the shared amusement. Ultimately, the song’s message isn't a serious commentary on celebrity worship; it’s a lighthearted exploration of how easily we can be captivated by external validation and a perceived aura of coolness. The artist uses hyperbole and repetition to create an infectious energy, transforming a simple observation into a full-blown, enthusiastic desire. It’s a song that revels in the joy of being swept up in a momentary, almost comical, obsession, perfectly capturing the fleeting nature of pop culture trends and the human tendency to be drawn to what appears glamorous and exciting.
