Venus Lyrics

Goddess on the mountain top, burning like a silver flame – Venus embodies irresistible allure and power, captivating listeners with her radiant beauty. Bananarama’s “Venus” is an anthem of desire, presenting a mythical figure as a potent symbol of attraction and transformation. The lyrics build around this central image, declaring "she's got it," emphasizing the woman’s magnetic force that awakens something primal within men – making them truly themselves. Her captivating gaze ("crystal eyes") represents undeniable influence, while her darkness (“black as the dark night”) adds to her mystique and allure. Ultimately, the song celebrates a powerful, almost otherworldly femininity, presenting Venus as an irresistible force at the listener’s ‘desire,’ a burning fire meant to be possessed and worshipped.
