Relax Lyrics

“Relax” is a provocative and deliberately confusing anthem urging listeners to embrace impulsive desire, particularly sexual urges. Frankie Goes to Hollywood uses repetition – “Relax don’t do it” – as a hypnotic command, almost like an instruction manual for unrestrained pleasure. The lyrics are filled with surreal imagery: "laser beams," "scheme those schemes," and explicit references to “get it up,” creating a frenetic, dreamlike state. Despite the seemingly chaotic nature of the song, there’s an underlying message of liberation – encouraging listeners to abandon inhibitions and chase their fantasies without restraint. The soaring vocals and insistent beat amplify this feeling, suggesting a reckless pursuit of intense experiences. Ultimately, the song is a bold exploration of desire and pleasure, challenging societal norms with its unapologetic invitation to “relax” and indulge.
