Love and Pride Lyrics

“Love and Pride” by King is a yearning for profound connection and self-discovery, driven by an intense desire for both romantic love and personal fulfillment. The repeated phrase “That’s what my heart yearns for now – love and pride” establishes this central theme, urging listeners to embark on a journey of embracing color, complexity, and hope. The lyrics depict actively seeking out beauty (“Look for rainbows”) even amidst challenges ("it's cloudy") and dissolving negativity (“Take your hairdryer”). Finding “a story I want to keep hearing” in another person represents the artist’s search for depth and shared experience. Ultimately, this song is about nourishing oneself with love and pride, recognizing that simple existence – "knowing, sensing, seeing" – is enriched through connection and continued pursuit of these vital emotions, a global sharing of “some love and pride.”
