Elevation Lyrics

“Elevation” is a yearning for transcendence and spiritual awakening fueled by an intense, almost obsessive love. The lyrics depict a descent into self-doubt – feeling like a “mole” digging in a hole – contrasted with the overwhelming desire to be lifted up, “elevated” above earthly concerns and limitations. The speaker’s vulnerability is palpable; they surrender control, admitting “no self control,” craving connection at the "corner of your lips" and captivated by the lover's influence, feeling like they can “fly.” The song explores a struggle between darkness and light, with the lover representing an illuminating force, capable of both education (“educate my mind”) and liberation from despair ("lift me up out of these blues"). Ultimately, "Elevation” is about seeking a higher state of being through love, a desperate plea for guidance and ultimately, a belief in the transformative power to rise above limitations and reach for something extraordinary – “I and I in the sky.”
