Devil Inside Lyrics

“Devil Inside” by INXS is a darkly cynical exploration of human nature and the potential for corruption within everyone. The song depicts a world populated by individuals – both men and women – consumed by ambition, pride, and destructive desires, symbolized by the “devil inside.” The lyrics paint a picture of ruthless behavior fueled by materialism and a hunger for power, suggesting that this darkness exists not just in isolated figures but is inherent to humanity itself. The repeated refrain emphasizes this unsettling truth: "Every single one of us the devil inside." Alongside these individuals, the world itself seems tainted, with an “uncertain future” and a need for something as bleak as “hell.” Ultimately, the song evokes feelings of unease, disillusionment, and a profound sense of moral ambiguity, revealing INXS’s message about the potentially sinister depths hidden beneath the surface of modern society.
