Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane on September 29, 1994, in Edison, New Jersey, is a multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter, and activist. Raised by a working-class family, Halsey faced numerous challenges in her youth, including homelessness and mental health struggles, which later influenced her raw and honest songwriting. She adopted the stage name 'Halsey' (an anagram of her first name) and began her musical journey by posting covers and original songs on Tumblr and YouTube.
